Day one of the shoot had the production crew turning up at the Salt Lake Central Park and everyone has seen having a blast on the sets. Sushmita Sen, who plays the lead, alongside Anjan Dutt, Jisshu Sengupta and Ritwick Chakraborty looked her comfortable best, as she gave her first-ever shot for a Bengali film.
“They will shoot a major part in Mumbai, and the remaining portions will be captured in Kolkata, apart from some other places. Sushmita just needs to undergo another look test before she faces the camera.” stated a source close to the production unit of the film.
Srijit Mukherji is known for his films like Baishe Srabon and Mishawr Rahasya. His 2014 release Jaatishwar won four National Awards for Best Male Playback Singer, Best Costume Design, Best Music Direction and Best Make-up Artist.
Sushmita Sen was last seen in a meaty role in No Problem (2010) and had made a guest appearance in Faltu (2011). Now, four years later, the actor is set to return to the big screen with Nirbak. Nirbak has four stories, with one character (Sushmita Sen) connecting them all.
Of what we know, this film was previously offered to the leggy lass Bipasha Basu but she could not take it as she was bust shooting for Bhushan Patel’s Alone.
“I am shooting for my first Bengali film and I am very excited about that. It’s like a homecoming, it’s like going back to my roots. I can do a Tamil, Telugu or any other language film, but I was scared of doing a Bengali film. Now I have got over that, and I’m working with some amazing actors and I’m looking forward to it,” stated a very excited Sushmita Sen.
Here’s wishing Sushmita Sen all the best for Nirbak and her Bengali film debut.
