Suriya is all set to team up with director Vikram Kumar for his next film. Suriya and director Vikram Kumar will will roll out their project early next year after Suriya completes Venkat Prabhu directed Masss.
Suriya’s 2D Entertainment confirmed the association via Twitter and wrote, “2D Entertainment’s next project with Manam director Vikram Kumar. Suriya set to play the lead. Details coming soon.”
Initially Mahesh Babu was offered this film but then he declined it as this one required the actor to essay triple roles and one being that of a grandfather. Now Mahesh Babu felt that triple roles may not suit him as he will have to look old for one of those three characters.
For Suriya, it would not be the first time that he would be portraying an old character as he had played father-son duo in Gautham Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram.
Currently Suriya is gearing up for the release of Anjaan that is set to hit the screens on August 15, 2014.
Besides Suriya, Anjaan stars Samantha, Manoj Bajpai, Vidyut Jamwal, Dilip Tahil and Parotta Suri. The music of the film is already and hit and one is expecting the film to do good business at the Box Office.
Anjaan has Suriya in a double role as Raju Bhai, the gangster and Krishna, his crutch wielding brother. While the actor plays the gangster character with gusto and style, he shows enormous restraint as Krishna, effortlessly pulling off two completely opposite roles.
The action is adrenaline pumping with lot of emphasis on establishing Suriya‘s Raju Bhai as a feared don of Mumbai. While the story line may not be novel, the execution of the screenplay from director, N Lingusamy seems to be top notch, with lot of interesting visuals to aid the flow of the film. Vidyut Jamwal plays Suriya’s best friend.
Post Anjaan, Suriya has Venkat Prabhu directed Masss for Studio Green with Nayanthara and Amy Jackson as his lading ladies.
