Charudutt Acharya’s Sonali Cable is is all about corrupt systems and the big players in the local market that horribly falls flat on the script as well as it’s execution.
Sonali Cable is all about Sonali (Rhea Chakraborty) who has a cable network in her locality and her love interest Raghu (Ali Fazal) who is the son of an ambitious local corporator (Smita Jaykar). For Sonali her cable network connects hearts, not just wires.
The problem arrives in the shape of a greedy old tycoon Mr. Waghela (Anupam Kher), who wants to own the entire market and shall go to any extend to have his monopoly.
Sonali Cable is all about Sonali’s fight for the locals, with the help of her small group of three boys, local customers and childhood love Raghav. Raghu is a huge help to her as he is the son of a local politician.
Anupam Kher is over the top and after a point gets on your nerves, Ali Fazal is just there with a half baked role and how can one forget Rhea Chakraborty who delivers a weak performance.
It is tough to sit through the entire film and as soon as it comes to an end all you want to do it run out for some fresh air.
Director and writer Charudutt Acharya sould have though twice before penning this one as he has too many issues bundled up in one film. The narrative is all over the place and we don’t even want to mention about the way the film has been executed. Charudutt Acharya has thrown caution to the winds as he has challenged the very basis of film making.
What’s appalling is the fact that even if the director was new, the producers Ramesh Sippy and Rohan Sippy could not see such a shoddy product.
Sonali Cable is avoidable.
It's confusing, it's lacks focus and it's from the makes of the blockbuster Sholay; well we are talking about a juvenile attempt titled Sonali Cable. ...1.0
