“Yeehaa! Finding Fanny officially invited to the BUSAN International Film Festival!” wrote an ecstatic Homi Adajania on Twitter.
“It’s pretty cool to be showcasing at the Busan International Film Festival because it is the top festival in all of Asia. It feels very good that Finding Fanny has been invited there,” Homi Adajania said in a statement.
Deepika Padukone, who has reunited with Homi Adajania after Cocktail to play the role of a young widow Angie in the movie, stated, “It’s an amazing moment for us and that too just before the release of the film. We thank Busan for bestowing this honour on us.”
Arjun too is very excited post this announced and stated, “This is great news for the entire team of Finding Fanny It’s a moment of pride and joy that a prestigious film festival like Busan has given us such recognition.”
Karan Johar feels that Finding Fanny is a step ahead of the latter’s debut film as a director, Being Cyrus. “I think there is an audience for every kind of film. Finding Fanny, just like Being Cyrus, is one step ahead in making avenue for English language films with mainstream movie stars and actors. I really hope it does exceedingly well. It opens many more doors and windows for this kind of cinema.” stated Karan Johar post the screening of Finding Fanny.
Finding Fanny narrates the story of five oddballs who venture out in search of Stefanie Fernandes. On their journey, they find meaning in their otherwise pointless lives.
Presented by Fox Star Studios, Finding Fanny is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films.
The movie stars Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia in key roles.
