The Pro Kabaddi League Tournament started on July 26, 2014 and the duo, along with other celebrities like Farah Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Tina Ambani and Kabir Bedi, attended the launch of the eight-city franchise.
Abhishek Bachchan owns Jaipur Pink Panthers, a franchise of The Pro Kabaddi League. From the Bachchan family, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were seen cheering for Abhishek’s kabaddi team.
An excited Farah Khan took on to Twitter post the tournament and wrote. “Thank You Abhishek for inviting us to the Pro Kabaddi opening!! What a fun we had!!”
Mr. Bachchan, who posted a photo at the launch with the Khans, also thanked them and others, who marked their presence.
“It is very exciting to watch the game. I used to play in my childhood and I am seeing it after a long time and enjoying it. It is an amazing game and it is totally Indian,” stated Aamir Khan.
“Grateful to all the stars and friends that came out in support – Shah Rukh, Sachin, Aamir and so many others. We had a blast, cheering this very Indian sport. An occasion a first for India and the game. Great fun. I do hope that we continue to play it the way it has been designed, with all the prominent corporates coming in and many celebrities joining the gang !!” Amitabh Bachchan posted on his official blog.
“I am here to support the sport. Couple of days ago, Abhishek called me and said we are having this Kabbadi league match and this is the first game and why don’t you come here, so I am here. This is just incredible to see the agility there, the speed, the awareness, it is extremely important and I have played this sport in school. It has been fantastic to come back again and support the sport,” stated the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Abhishek Bachchan’s team lost the match, but he was happy with the turnout.
