The supermodel, now sixty two, recalled the incident to Whoopi Goldberg, who has been a prominent Bill Cosby defender since the allegations involving more than twenty women resurfaced.
Beverly Johnson states that she met with Bill Cosby several times in the 1980’s to discuss a possible role for her on The Cosby Show.
She began by retelling the harrowing account, which she says went down at Bill Cosby’s NYC brownstone. Johnson claimed that he had invited her over to help rehearse for his beloved family sitcom, The Cosby Show, which aired from 1984 to 1992.
During one visit, Beverly Johnson alleged that Bill Cosby insisted she have a cappuccino he made her but because of her experimentation with drugs in the 1970’s, Beverly Johnson immediately realised the drink was laced.
“The room started spinning a little and then I took another sip, the drug was coming on like a moving train. At that moment, I knew I had been drugged. I cocked my head. The next morning, I felt devastated. I was numb.” stated the emotional former model.
Beverly Johnson stated that she was able to fight him off before Bill Cosby put her in a cab. She later attempted to call and confront him but eventually gave up after only reaching his wife.
Beverly Johnson decided to come forward after her friend, model Janice Dickinson and many other women broke their silence regarding their interactions with Bill Cosby.
“I decided to come out because I saw all these courageous woman telling their story, which were eerily similar to mine. I don’t care about other people’s opinions about me. I care about doing the right thing. What Bill Cosby has done to us is shameful” adds Beverly Johnson.
