The deal is signed between company’s online entertainment portal, ErosNow and Hum TV, stated Eros International while filing to the BSE.
Apparently, the deal entails the registered users of ErosNow across the world access to Hum TV’s entire library, including the current shows at no extra subscription.
Besides, ErosNow subscribers in India will also get an exclusive opportunity to view the content forty eight hours prior to it’s telecast on any other platform.
Rishika Lulla Singh, Chief Executive Office, ErosNow, stated that their partnership with Hum TV would give the company’s subscribers an opportunity to view the much sought after and varied Pakistani content.
“The association enables us in reaching out and providing some of our best Pakistani contents to millions of keen internet users across the globe.” stated Hum Network President Sultana Siddiqui in his official statement.
ErosNow is an on-demand entertainment portal offering Bollywood movies and a large section of television content syndicated from major television studios besides music and audio tracks.
ErosNow started offering television shows in April 2014 and at the time it had also featured episodes from two Pakistani television shows, Maat and Humsafar.
In May 2014, ErosNow signed a content deal with from Colors and got access to shows like Balika Vadhu, Uttaran, Sasural Simar Ka, Beintehaa, Rangrasiya, Madhubala, Comedy Nights With Kapil and Khatron Ke Khiladi.
On the other hand, Hum TV, is a twenty four hour entertainment television channel based in Karachi and Lahore, Pakistan.
It is owned by Hum Network Limited, which was known as Eye Television Network Limited prior to January 21, 2011.
Hum TV began it’s transmission on January 17, 2005.
This deal could cause issues to Zee TV‘s Zindagi Channel as they too have acquired content from Hum TV.
