The Epic Channel is likely to be on Reliance BIG TV as well. The channel will also be available across leading Digital Cable platforms i.e. Hathway, DEN Networks, GTPL, IMCL and all leading Independent cable platforms.
The Epic Channel has action, drama, comedy, supernatural and narrative non-fiction content, set against Indian history and mythology. The stories are expected to be innovative with high production quality and a distinct look and feel that will appeal to both men and women.
The Epic Channel, which is India’s first segmented entertainment channel, is set to showcase Indian history and mythology in a modern, contemporary manner through its fiction shows, narrative non-fiction shows, short form content as well as films.
The shows will not be long-winded and endless. The seasonal, episodic route taken by the channel is also one of its high points.
Currently the channel has gone on air with four shows Siyaasat, Dharmakshetra, Dariba Diaries and Daanav Hunters.
There is also an interesting mix of non-fiction shows that include Adrishya (a show about Indian spies), Ekaant (the story of abandoned places), Raja Rasoi Aur Anya Kahaniyaan, which takes viewers on a journey of the food that the royals ate and Kahi Suni that explores the myths and legends of India.
According to the promoters, the channel’s hero is its well-researched content, which comprises a fine blend of fiction and narrative non-fiction made by well-known directors and producers shot in authentic locations and in full HD with Dolby digital surround sound.
Well looking at the fate of the recently launched channels like Sony Pal and Zindagi; it’s really tough to say what will be the fate of this one.
