Karan Johar’s Ungli had everything going right; from the star cast to the promotions to the timing of release; the only thing that went against it was the script, as the film did not have one. Sad but true!!
Ungli opened in about one thousand seven hundred screens and took a very poor opening considering it’s cast and the production house behind it.
The makes expected the film to pick up post Friday, but with disastrous reviews both by the critics and audiences the film died a premature death.
Ungli managed to collect Rs 03.60 crore nett on Friday (November 28, 2014), Rs 04.15 crore nett on Saturday (November 29, 2014) and Rs 05.05 crore nett on Sunday (November 30, 2014) making it to Rs 12.35 crore nett at the end of it’s first weekend.
For Emraan Hashmi this is his second flop in a row, the first one being Raja Natwarlal. As for Kangana Ranaut, she too has belted out three flops – Rajjo, Revolver Rani and now Ungli; but then one cannot forget, that she has, the success of Queen to fall back on.
Coming on to Zid, the film too has proved to be disastrous at the Box Office.
Zid opened in about thousand odd screens and was a non starter from day one. What’s shocking is that fact that even with good music and loads of skin show the film failed to attract audiences and sank at the Box Office.
Zid managed to collect Rs 01.10 crore nett on Friday (November 28, 2014), Rs 01.05 crore nett on Saturday (November 29, 2014) and Rs 01.35 crore nett on Sunday (November 30, 2014) making it to Rs 03.50 crore nett at the end of it’s first weekend.
Zid has proved to be a disastrous flop and will, most definitely be in the list of the worst films of 2014.
All eyes are now set on the Ajay Devgn starrer Action Jackson that is set for a December 05, 2014 release.
November 28, 2104 saw the release of Ungli and Zid. Now going by their first weekend collections, one can say that both the films have fallen flat at ...1.0
