Inspite of being mounted on lavish scale and with almost no competition from PK, Taken 3 and Big Eyes; Tevar has not managed to create a steer at the Box Office.
On Friday, the film took a fair start at Box Office with about twenty percent occupancy in Gujarat and about thirty percent occupancy in Rajasthan, UP, Delhi and Mumbai. But as the day progressed the film did not show a rise in terms of it’s Box Office collections.
Tevar was slammed both by the critics as well as the audiences and showed a consistent drop.
On day one (January 09, 2015) the film collected Rs. 07.05 crore nett, day two (January 10, 2015) it managed Rs 07.00 crore nett and on day three (January 11, 2015) the film collected about Rs 08.10 crore nett; making it to a total of about Rs. 22.15 crore nett at the Indian Box Office.
The romantic-action drama in spite of being a regular commercial film with some popular tunes has filed in terms of it’s business. An opening weekend of Rs. 22.15 crore nett is quite average for Tevar.
Arjun Kapoor’s last outing at the Box Office, 2 States, had made about Rs 38 crore nett in it’s first weekend at the Box Office, and was declared a hit, Sonakshi Sinha’s last, Action Jackson, bombed badly at the Box Office.
Tevar is a remake of Telugu film 2003 release Okkadu, which fared well at the Box Office. The Tamil version of the film titled Ghilli also turned out to be a huge hit.
With the Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover horror flick Alone releasing on January 16, 2015, Tevar might face some competition at the Box Office.
The film will have to do exceptionally well during the week in order to be able to make a profit over it’s budget, which at this moment looks steep.
Tevar that released on January 09, 2015 with about two thousand eight hundred to three thousand prints has fallen flat at the Box Office at the end of...1.5
