Tevar was touted to be one of the big releases of 2015. One had loads of expectations from the film but looking at the collections of the film one must say that it would go down to become one of the disasters of 2015.
The film released across two thousand eight hundred to three thousand screens and was mounted on lavish scale, but with no script and equally bad performances the film died a premature death.
The film collected Rs 07.05 crore nett on Friday (January 09, 2015), Rs 07.00 crore nett on Saturday (January 10, 2015), Rs 08.00 crore nett on Sunday (January 11, 2015), on Monday (January 12, 2105) the film managed a Rs 00.50 crore nett, Rs 03.10 crore nett on Tuesday (January 13, 2015), collections on Wednesday (January 14, 2015) fell to Rs 02.75 crore nett and on Thursday (January 15, 2015) it further fell to Rs 02.55 crore nett thus making a total of about Rs 33.95 crore nett at the end of week one.
The romantic-action drama in spite of being a regular commercial film with some popular tunes filed in terms of it’s business.
Tevar had an advantage as it has no competition; from films like PK and Taken 3. Also PK was about three weeks old and there as no major film that preceded it but looking at it’s decimal collections one has to say that one needs content to draw audiences to the theaters and not the so called big actors.
With Alone, Crazy Cukkad Family and Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene releasing today (January 16, 2105) the film could have had a great run had there been content.
After seeing the film and it’s subsequent collections, we can conveniently state that the makes were more interesting into making a three hour sham rather than a film that could have made them proud.
