Box Office: Super Nani Is Super Flop; Roar Struggles

super nani-02October 31, 2014 saw the release of Roar and Super Nani. Going by both their performances at the Box Office, it seems that they will prove to be a loss making deal.

Super Nani starring Rekha directed by Indra Kumar, opened to empty houses on Friday and struggled to even cross Rs 50 lacs on it’s opening day. The film could make only Rs 1.50 crore nett over the weekend and even avid Rekha fans couldn’t save it from being a washout.

Indra Kumar who gave some big hits like Dil, Beta, Ishq, Masti and Grand Masti has belted out the biggest disaster of 2014.

Super Nani collected horrific Rs 50 lacs nett on Friday (October 31, 2014), about Rs 50 lacs nett on Saturday (November 01, 2014) and about Rs 50 lacs nett on Sunday (November 02, 2014) thus barely managing to collect about Rs 1.50 crore nett at the end of it’s first weekend.

While one might have expected a Rekha starrer to do better amongst the small budget films, the least hyped Roar emerged as a blockbuster when compared to Super Nani.

Roar managed to attract a certain set of audience to the theatres over the weekend and according to the Box Office reports, Roar managed to collected about Rs 1.60 crore nett on Friday (October 31, 2014), about Rs 1.80 crore nett on Saturday (November 01, 2014) and about Rs 1.80 crore nett on Sunday (November 02, 2014) thus  managing to collect about Rs 5.20 crore nett at the end of it’s first weekend.

On the other hand, Happy New Year showed a huge growth in occupancy over the weekend managed to collect about Rs 183.12 crore nett so far.

Now all eyes are set on The Shaukeens and Rang Rasiya that are set to release on November 07, 2014. The chances for them to give Happy New Year some completion look steep because non of the films are carrying a very strong pre-release buzz.
