PK collected Rs 26.63 crore nett on day one (December 19, 2014), Rs 30.34 crore nett on day two (December 20, 2104), on day three the film collected Rs 38.44 crore nett (December 21, 2104), Rs 21.29 crore nett on day four (December 22, 2014), on day five the collections were close to Rs 18.91 crore nett (December 23, 2014), Rs 19.55 crore nett was what the film collected on day six (December 14, 2014) and on day seven the collections were about Rs 28.15 crore nett (December 25, 2014); thus at the end of it’s first week PK managed to collect approximately Rs 183.31 crore nett at the Indian Box Office.
So far, the films Box Office collections scored maximum on Sunday, bettering all-time first Sunday record set by Aamir Khan’s previous movie Dhoom 3.
Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer got a positive response from the audience and critics for it’s gripping storyline and powerful performances.
Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and UTV, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput. Ranbir Kapoor made a surprise appearance in the film.
With the total figure of approximatelyRs 183.31 crore nett at the Indian Box Office in seven days, PK is second to Dhoom 3 in terms of highest week one collections.
PK is expected to have a great second and three week, considering there is no major competition. Ugly that released today (December 26, 2104) has opened to almost empty houses and the following week (January 02, 2105) will see the release of Mumbai Can Dance Saalaa starring Rakhi Sawant.
The hindi dub of Lingaa has released told (December 26, 2104) could eat into some of PK‘s pie but then it would be very minimal.
Looks like it will be a clean sweep for PK.
