According to us, the way the Box Office collects look for NH10, the film should just about manage to cover it’s cost.
The film collected Rs 0.35 crore nett on Friday (March 13, 2015), on Saturday (March 14, 2105) the film jumped and collected about Rs 04.50 crore nett, on Sunday (March 16, 2015) the film collected Rs 05.20 crore nett, on Monday (March 17, 2015) the collections fell drastically to Rs. 02.08 crore nett, it went further down hill on Tuesday (March 18, 2015) with Rs 01.92 crore nett, Wednesday (March 19, 2015) the film collected Rs 01.80 crore nett and on Thursday (March 20, 2015) the film managed to collect Rs 01.62 crore nett; thus making to a total of Rs 20.70 crore nett at the end of it’s first week.
The film’s title refers to the 403-km long National Highway 10 that starts from Delhi, passes through Haryana via Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Hisar, Fatehabad, Sirsa and ends at the Pakistan border in Punjab.
The movie, directed by Navdeep Singh, stars Anushka Sharma, Neil Bhoopalam and Darshan Kumaar.
Though NH10 is a copy of Eden Lake, it throws a spotlight on the gruesome evil of honour killing, known to be prevalent in certain parts the country, including Haryana.
The film has a brilliant first half, but the second half just does not end. To make matters worst, the film is a copy of Eden Lake, which is sad, considering the premise of the film was so real.
Had the second half been as brilliant as the first, this film could have been a huge draw. Also the fact that this one has loads of violence, blood and gore, and that’s precisely the reason the film was given an adult certificate.
NH10, which has been produced by Phantom Films, was made with a medium budget of about Rs 15 crore and looks like it has recovered it’s production costs.
Releases this week are romantic comedy Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend, an issue based film Dozakh and sex comedy Hunterrr.
Non of the above films are huge money spinners and will have no effect on NH10, which will enjoy a run for two weeks with almost no competition.
