Mardaani backed by Yash Raj Films has had a good word of mouth and has managed a good first weekend.

However, the word of mouth for Mardaani was very strong and the film picked up and showed improved collections on on Saturday and Sunday.
Mardaani has managed to collect about Rs 03.46 crore nett on Friday (August 22, 2014), Rs 04.73 crore nett on Saturday (August 23, 2014) and Rs 06.15 crore nett on Sunday (August 24, 2014), thus collecting about Rs 14.24 crore nett in its opening weekend.
Mardaani collected about Rs 03.46 crore nett on its first day, which was better than other women centric films like Queen and Dedh Ishqiya.
Mardaani has been made on a budget of close to Rs 20 crores nett and it needs to be show steady collections if it has to be declared a hit. Mardaani is an engaging and an alarming film about human trafficking. Such films should be made more often keeping in much the sensitiveness of the issue.
The coming week, August 29, 2014, Emraan Hashmi starrer Raja Natwarlal is set to hit the silver screen which according to us will not effect the business of this film.
