Kill Dil was touted to do great business at the Box Office but with a story line that looked like a poor copy of Gunday, the film has almost tanked at the Box Office both in India as well as Overseas.
Being a Yash Raj Films product, Kill Dil managed to open in about two thousand and six hundred screens. The film also had a huge advantage as it had no major release in the previous week but sadly the film fell flat.
Kill Dil was touted to be a huge draw at the ticket window, considering that fact that Govinda was making a comeback, but one look at it’s Box Office report and we can say that the film has been a huge disappointment.
Kill Dil collected around Rs 06.53 crore nett on Friday and from there on had a bad run at the Box Office. The collections kept deteriorating day by day and the film just did not pick up.
Kill Dil has managed to collect about Rs 06.53 crore nett on Friday (November 14, 2014), Rs 06.35 crore nett on Saturday (November 15, 2014), Rs 07.30 crore nett on Sunday (November 16, 2014), Rs 02.80 crore nett on Monday (November 17, 2014), Rs 02.45 crore nett on Tuesday (November 18, 2014), Rs 02.25 crore nett on Wednesday (November 19, 2014) and Rs 02.05 crore nett on Thursday (November 20, 2014), thus collecting about Rs 29.73 crore nett at the end of week one.
Two things about Kill Dil kind of amuses me; firstly director Shaad Ali took seven years to come back with this one and secondly Yash Raj Films producing Kill Dil, that had it’s storyline similar to Gunday, which is also a Yash Raj Film production.
Moving on, Kill Dil is Parineeti Chopra’s third flop; second in row after Daawat-e-Ishq; Ranveer Singh’s third in a row after Gunday and Finding Fanny and Ali Zafar’s second in a row after Total Siyapaa. Oh My God!! Too many flop actors in one film kind of killed it.
For Govinda this one proved to be a dud. What’s alarming is that fact that even Happy Ending is not carrying very good reports as far as the initial Box Office buzz is concern.
Now all eyes are set on Karan Johar’s Ungli that according to us looks promising.
