Box Office: Khamoshiyan, Hawaizaada And Rahasya Prove Disastrous

rahasya-02January 30, 2015 proved to be another disastrous Friday for Bollywood, with all the three films, Khamoshiyan, Hawaizaada and Rahasya falling flat at the Box Office at the and of their first weekend.

As expected, amongst the three new releases it was Khamoshiyan that took the lead at the Box Office and the credit for this should go to the intimate scenes as well as the songs that were in the film.

Khamoshiyan has managed to perform decently in mass centers, Hawaizaada just could not take off and Rahasya just sank without much effort.

Ironically, out of the three films, Rahasya was the best out of the worst as far as their content was concerned.

Hawaizaada opened to very poor reviews both by critics as well the audiences that went in to see the film. the film opened to poor occupancies all over and did not show any sign of grown.

Hawaizaada collected Rs 57 lacs nett on Friday (January 30, 2015), on Saturday (January 31, 2105) the film managed to collect Rs 65 lacs nett and on Sunday (February 01, 2015) the film collected Rs 75 lacs nett; thus making it a total of about Rs 01.97 crore nett at the end of it’s first weekend. The film is thus a total washout.

Hawaizaada, managing to collect just around Rs 2 crore nett over the weekend, the film is a massive disaster as even the cost of promotion and marketing would be impossible to recover.

Coming to Khamoshiyan, well this one too opened to poor reviews and thus had a slow start. However the film did show some positive trend in single screens as it had some titillating content.

The film was somewhat better in mass centers but did not grow in terms of it’s collections as the makers would have expected it to.

Khamoshiyan collected Rs 01.92 crore nett on Friday (January 30, 2015), on Saturday (January 31, 2105) the film managed to collect Rs 02.21 crore nett and on Sunday (February 01, 2015) the film collected Rs 02.54 crore nett; thus making it a total of about Rs 06.67 crore nett at the end of it’s first weekend.

The film has been made at a moderate budget of about Rs 15 crore, something that will work in it’s favour as it will be able to recover it’s production cost.

Rahasya, well this was has been a non starter from the word go, as no one saw the film. The film has managed to collect approximately Rs 60 lacs nett at the Box Office which is a total disaster.

Looking at all the facts and figures, supernatural erotica Khamoshiyan has performed better than the other two new releases Hawaizaada and Rahasya at the Domestic Box Office.

Now all eyes are set on Shamitabh, that’s set to release this coming week, February 06, 2015.
