Happy Ending that released in approximately one thousand eight hundred screens took a very slow start on Friday (November 21, 2014). As expected, the film did better business in multiplexes whereas in single screens it was a total washout.
Post Friday the makes expected he film to pick up but it proved otherwise. One must give all the credit to the writing team for belting out such a mediocre product.
Happy Ending managed to collect about Rs 03.95 crore nett on Friday (November 21, 2014), Rs 04.50 crore nett on Saturday (November 22, 2014), Rs 05.10 crore nett on Sunday (November 23, 2014), Rs 01.95 crore nett on Monday (November 24, 2014), Rs 01.60 crore nett on Tuesday (November 25, 2014), Rs 01.40 crore nett on Wednesday (November 26, 2014) and Rs 01.25 crore nett on Thursday (November 27, 2014), thus collecting about Rs 19.75 crore nett at the end of week one.
On the other hand, Kill Dil, which is in it’s second week has been a huge disappointment. The film has barely managed to collect about Rs 34.00 crore nett at the end of it’s second week.
For Saif Ali Khan and Govinda this is bad news as both the actors have had managed to give two flops in a row; Saif with Humshakals and Happy Ending while Govinda with Kill Dil and Happy Ending.
With Happy Ending proving to be a dead house, Saif Ali Khan’s production company, Illuminati Films too needs to re-look at the kind of scripts they are belting out.
Agent Vinod (2012), Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014) and now Happy Ending (2014) have proved to be disastrous thus leaving them with an average Cocktail (2012) and Go Goa Gone (2013) to their credit.
All eyes are not set on Ajay Devgn starrer Action Jackson that is set to hit the silver screen on December 05, 2014.
