Its finally happened for Mohit Suri as his second film in a row has entered the 100 crore club. Yes Ek Villain has finally been declared a blockbuster and has entered the 100 crore club.

Mohit Suri has done it again. First it was Aashiqui 2 and now Ek Villain; well both the films have rocked the Box Office. Aashiqui 2 as we all know, did about 100 crore plus at the Box Office and now his latest film Ek Villain too is rocking at the Box Office and has entered the 100 crore club.

Ek Villain hit the silver screen on June 27, 2014, with stars Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra is basking in the success of the film, and Shraddha Kapoor has gone on record stating that she wants to be a part of all Mohit Suri‘s films.

The success of Ek Villain can be attributed to a couple of reasons. Firstly, it had some great music, secondly, the cast comprising of Sidharh Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh created magic on screen and lastly it was the time of release as the next week (July 04, 2014) saw the release of Bobby Jasoos and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil; both fell flat at the Box Office and this week (July 11, 2014) saw the release of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania which is a totally different genera of film.

Interestingly, Ek Villain was screened across two thousand six hundred screens and has been getting a good response both in multiplexes as well as single screens.

For Mohit Suri, Ek Villain is special because it was the first time Mohit Suri worked out of the comfort zone of the Bhatt camp.

Here’s wishing the entire team of Ek Villain hearty congratulations.
