Alone released across one thousand to one thousand two hundred screens and took a sluggish start as there it neither has a chartbuster or any novelty value attracted to it. All one saw one an almost naked Karan Singh Grover, with tattoos all lover and how can we forget our very own jaded Bipasha Basu.
Alone worked with the masses thanks to the sleazy factor and horror genre. In multiplexes, the film has almost been a wash out.
On Friday (January 16, 2015) the film managed to collect about Rs 04.57 crore nett, on Saturday (January 17, 2015) it clocked about Rs 04.45 crore nett and on Sunday (January 18, 2015) the film managed to collect Rs 05.63 crore nett at the Indian Box Office making it a total of about Rs 14. 65 crore nett at the end of its first weekend.
Alone has been lucky to have made a decent start at the Box Office and all thanks to films like Mumbai Can Dance Saalaa, Tevar, Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene and Crazy Cukkad Family.
Arjun Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha’s Tevar witnessed a drop in it’s collections in the second week owing to new releases Alone and I. The film, which hit the screens on January 09, 2015 has had an average opening at the domestic Box Office.
Tevar, too has done better business in mass circuits as compared to multiplexes and has been a huge disappointment, both in terms of its content as well as it’s collections.
Looking at the way things have shaped up for Alone, one can say that, had there been content in the film, it would have been a blockbuster considering there was no competition.
Alone will now face another screen crunch and stiff competition from Akshay Kumar starrer Baby and Sonam Kapoor – Rajkummar Rao starrer Dolly Ki Doli that is gearing up for release next week (January 23, 2015).
Bollywood wake up and work on scripts rather then running behind stars and sex!!
