Honar Soon Mi Hya Gharchi, the Zee Marathi show has actors like Tajashree Pradhan, Shashank Ketkar, Suhita Thatte, Leena Bhagwat, Mandar Devasthali, Rohini Hattangaddi, Supriya Pathare and Smita Sarvade; while Satrangi Sasural on Zee TV has a ensemble star cast of Farida Jalal, Mugdha Chaphekar, Ravish Desai, Samta Sagar, Bhavna Balsavar, Sadia Siddiqui, Resham Tipnis, Sonali Sachdev and Sheetal Thakkar.
Satrangi Sasural is about seven mothers who are in search of a daughter-in-law for their one son. Vihaan Vatsal (Ravish Desai) lives with seven women who are like mothers to him. Each one of them loves Vihaan and have one day allotted to them wherein only they have a right to pamper and spoil him.
So Vihaan has Dadi Maa, Tai Maa, Chachi Maa, Maa (biological mother), Bua Maa, Maasi Maa, Mini Maa (younger bua), something that so unreal and forced.
While Dadi Maa influences Vihaan in terms of having a mature point of view while tackling the problems of life, Narmada Maa, his biological mother, is his emotional anchor and coaches him on being sensitive to others.
Bua Maa inculcates in him an intrinsic strength and the ability to stand up for what is right. Chachi Maa takes care of his diet and ensures he’s eating right at all times. Mini Maa, being the fitness enthusiast she is, looks into his health and well-being.
Tai Maa is his spiritual anchor, teaching him to stay connected with God and Maasi Maa is his intellectual guide who ensures that he excels in his career.
The back story of each of these seven women is similar and somewhere boils down to how they hate men. While one’s husband left to take up sanyaas, the other one settled down in Canada with a new wife. One mother’s husband was a wife beater and seeing so many failed relationships one decides to never get married. Vihaan loves all his mothers equally and is the only one who can stop them from fighting over him.
As the story progress, Vihaan falls in love with Aarushi (Mugdha Chapekar) and that’s where all the trouble starts. Both the actors seem to be sleep walking their roles. Off all the other women, well they have hardly anything much to do and most of them end up just filling up the screen.
It’s sad to see so many talented actors in the same frame being wasted.
The lead actress Mugdha doesn’t seem to have any chemistry with Ravish. The plot looks forced and is set to test your patience.
Satrangi Sasural has noting new to offer and would fall flat as the weeks go by.
Satrangi Sasural is a xerox copy of Honar Soon Mi Hya Gharchi and trust us it's bad copy with respect to it's script, the production design as well as...1.0
