Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar, the new show on Sony Entertainment Television revolves around a couple who went separate ways fifteen years back. Among four of their children, two are with Ragini (Pallavi Kulkarni) and the other two live with Neil Khanna (Ronit Roy).
Ragini is a strict disciplinarian, who forgot to smile and live happily after she parted ways with her husband and Neil lost respect for women. Both moved on in life, but somehow they still hold a grudge. Ragini’s children long for materialist pleasures and wish for their father who could easily provide for them.
On the other hand, Neil’s kids want to spend more time with their father, but he showers them with gifts instead of his presence. What happens when the estranged couple meets after fifteen years form the rest of the story.
Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar defies all logic when to comes to the characters being doctors. Inspite of having an impressive pair, Pallavi and Ronit, their characters are all over the place.
Ashwini Kalsekar who is essaying the role of Pam Khanna is over the top and irritating. Her styling is garish and over the top.
The character of Sunny Tai, the housekeeper of Ragini’s house is loud and a complete misfit in the house. Ronit’s name in the show is ideally Doctor Nachiket Khanna, but since he has been living in New York it has become Neil K. Now that’s so wannabe! Is he a doctor or a rockstar.
The makes of the show have roped in a lot of foreign sexy women to play nurses to Doctor Neil K. who in their minds are walking the ramp rather than attending to patients.
Doctor Neil K performs a complicated brain surgery on his own daughter and minutes after the surgery he is seen talking to to her. Now was girl not given anesthesia or was the operation performed on her without it. If so, one must applaud the girl as she could bare all the pain and still be alive and kicking.
If this was not enough, for fifteen years Aman (Darshan Pandya) doesn’t realise his feelings for Ragini but when someone points it out he suddenly develops feelings and with her rejection the feeling dies an early death too. How ride is that!
Also if Ragini is supposed to be the administrative officer of the hospital, then why is she taking the call of picking surgeons, or comforting patients, when did that become part of the admin’s job profile. How bizarre!!
Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar was touted to be the next Bade Acche Lagte Hai, but the show is not even close to it thanks to the weak characterisation and even weaker script.
