Mona began her journey to stardom in the year 2003 by hosting a weekly travel show Operation Gold on Star Gold.
As an actor, one saw her for the first time in the year 2004, in a telefilm on Sahara One titled 30 Day Trial.
People took notice of this talented girl and she was offered work, but Mona did not want to settle in for anything conventional, so waiting and her wait paid off.
Year 2005, Mona Wasu was cast to essay the title role in the television series Miilee and as they say the rest was history.
Miilee, was a game changer of sorts and so was Mona because at that time one saw women wrapped in nine yards on television and here Mona was essaying a role of a tom boy.
For Mona, life is all about changes and post Miilee, she went back to hosting shows. She loves to flow because according to her stagnation is death.
She once again surprised us as Rohini Sharma in Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi and as we are just about getting used to seeing this lovely actor on television, Mona pleasantly shocked all of us by winning the reality show Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao in 2009.
Post that she went on to do shows like Hum – Ek Chote Gaon Ki Badi Kahani, Parichay and was also a part of the mini series Yudh starring Amitabh Bachchan and Sarika.
One also saw her performing plays and her first theatre production Ek Baar Ki Baat Hai, is a collection of short stories by Ismat Chugtai, Rajinder Singh Bedi and Manto.
She has also been a part of films like Maazill (2013) and Club 60 (2014).
As a person she is all heart, but only to those who she cares and loves. To the outside world, she is someone who would not like to mess up with.
A strong woman knows that she has strength enough for the journey, but a woman of strength knows, it is in the journey where she will become stronger; and Mona Vasu is definitely a woman of strength.
Here’s wishing this girl loads of luck for a great future.
