Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s show, The Kapil Sharma Show has landed in trouble for controversial portrayal of nurses. Kapil said, the protestors might have had some misunderstanding about these characters and he doesn’t have any intention to hurt anyone.
When he was asked whether these characters will continue to be a part of this show, Kapil said, “Definitely, they will still be seen. I feel that some people might have had some misunderstanding, and it happens sometimes… They love us and watch the show, that’s why they might have thought that way. We are a part of a show and just doing comedy with that character. And we don’t have any intentions to hurt anyone purposely.”
Reports are abuzz that nurses from Amritsar and the constituency of Navjot Singh Sidhu have lodged a complaint against the show for demeaning their profession. The protesters have also decided to file a defamation case against Kapil.
Rochelle Rao plays a hot and sexy nurse in the show while Kiku Sharda plays the character of an overweight nurse.
The comedian further said, “Our intention with whatever we do is to bring a smile on your face. If we are playing with any character, it is only for that particular character, not for the whole community. If I joke with Sidhu paaji, it doesn’t mean that I’m joking with the whole Sikh community. If I’m joking with Sunil (Grover), it doesn’t mean I’m saying anything to the doctor community, I’m talking about that particular character.”
