He has time and again proved that you cannot keep talent under wraps for long.
His journey began in the year 2003 with Piya Ka Ghar on Zee TV, where he essayed the role of Soham. For Amit, it was always the strength of the role rather then the length of the role that mattered.
All he knew was to act and that’s what he did. He went on to be a part of shows like Kesar, Miilee, Saat Phere, Lo Ho Gayi Pooja Iss Ghar Ki and many more, but what caught everyone’s eyes was the character of Dev Singhania and Prince in Zee TV‘s Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann.
Post this Amit was cast in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the show that went on air in the year 2009 on Star Plus. Things were looking up for him, but then suddenly his character, Alok just vanished from the show.
Most of the actors in his place would have taken this as a huge set back but Amit took this one in his stride and moved on.
Around this time he met his mentor and now a friend Sandip Soparrkar who trained him as a dancer.
One did see him act off and on, but then for an actor, consistance is what is important. Guess destiny had big plans for him because almost after six years, Amit Dolavat made a re-entry in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
It’s a pleasure to see him on screen as he essays the same Alok who was in love with the main lead of the show but this time around things are different.
What really amazes me is the fact that he is one of the most under rated actors that we have on television today who deserves much more than what he has got.
Acting deals with very delicate emotions. It is not about putting up a mask. Each time an actor acts he does not hide; he exposes himself. That’s how I would like to sum up Amit.
Here wishing Amit all the best and we do hope that he continues to entertain us and keep doing such good work!!
