Wonder Park Movie Review: This Film Offers Nothing New

Feature Name: Wonder Park
Directors: Dylan Brown, David Feiss, Clare Kilner and Robert Iscove
Voices by: Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Norbert Leo Butz, Brianna Denski, Ken Hudson Campbell

Wonder Park is mundane and doesn’t offer anything we haven’t seen before.

June (Brianna Denski) is a bright young kid who’s interested in creating a magical theme park called Wonderland. Her imagination is just brilliant with gravity-defying rides, speaking animals who have special powers and whatnot. But when her mother, a constant source of encouragement is diagnosed with a serious ailment and has to leave for treatment, she goes into depression. How she fights all odds and bounces back is essentially what the film is about.

The film is predictable and even the treatment is passable. The animation is good and the funny dialogues redeem it to a great extent. Also, there are some good moments that make you emotional. But they are not enough to make the film enjoyable. The voice-overs are on point. Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick & John Oliver are particularly good.

We give this hackneyed film 1 star with no kinks.
