Regression, a thriller, stars Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke, where in Emma Watson essays a role of a girl who accuses her father of committing a crime he has no recollection of being involved in.
However, as Detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) investigates the case, it appears that Emma Watson’s (Angela) father has no memory of the accusation. As a psychologist is bought in to help uncover forgotten events, a much bigger mystery is unveiled.
The film goes back in the 90’s where Ethan Hawke is investigating a horrifying mystery, the key to which is Emma Watson.
However, as we see in this short trailer, revealing the truth puts both she and Ethan Hawke’s lives on the line.
In the trailer clip, an emotionally ravaged Angela can be seen undergoing regression, in which she remembers a smiling elderly lady getting her out of bed in the middle of the night. But before she does, she issues a chilling warning and say, “They’ll kill me.”
Ethan Hawke does his best to convince Emma that isn’t true, telling her that nobody’s going to hurt her anymore. But once she recounts the events at hand, the notion that nobody will be able to hurt her seems very far fetched.
The video also flashes scenes of a congregation of hooded figures standing in a dark room, with one clothed in red.
Regression also stars David Thewlis (The Fifth Estate, Harry Potter), David Dencik (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo) , Dale Dickey (Winter’s Bone, True Blood), Lothaire Bluteau (The Tudors) and Devon Bostick (Diary Of A Wimpy Kid).
The film is written and directed by Alejandro Amenabar and is set to release on UK on August 28, 2015.
