Apart from some gripping scenes, The Predator fails to hold your attention.
Rory McKenna (Jacob Tremblay) is a really intelligent kid. One day, as he’s ‘playing’ with what looks like a giant mask, he inadvertently draws attention of the predators who set off to reach Planet Earth. Now, it’s up to Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook) & a few other people to fight the deadly creatures.
The problem with the film is that the story isn’t really that interesting. It starts off well but the graph keeps falling. The humour fails on most occasions. It’s predicable and even the execution is weak. It’s also very misogynist. Having said that, it has some redeeming moments. Some of the action sequences are good.
Boyd Holbrook acts well. Olivia Munn is fine but her character lacks depth. Jacob Tremblay is impressive. All the other actors are decent in their respective roles.
The Predator is far from impressive. We give it 2 stars with no kink.
