The trailer of The Possession Of Hannah Grace scares you while the movie disappoints you.
The Possession Of Hannah Grace is a story of a girl named Hannah Grace who is possessed by a demon and is killed during an exorcism. Her body reaches a morgue where ex-cop Megan Reed (Shay Mitchell) is on night shift and this is where the possessed Hannah Grace reaks havoc.
The Possession Of Hannah Grace starts with an amateur-ly made exorcism scene which should be a scene from Scary Movies (not the scary-scary ones but the parody one). Though the film had an advantage of having the ghost/demon latched to a body in the setup of morgue unlike many other horror movies where the demon is in the house or a toy or a room; director Diederik Van Rooijen takes this boon and turns it into a curse.
The biggest dropback of the movie comes in the end where the film ends abruptly as if the director realises that he is running out of space in the memory card to shoot the climax so the climax is shot unconvincingly and hurriedly with no appropriate explanation and logic.
The performance from Shay Mitchell is adequate in a movie where the side characters get killed to build the tension to no-effect.
Horror movies can be fun, but they can also be painful to sit through and unfortunately this one falls in the latter category.
We give The Possession Of Hannah Grace 1.5 stars and a rotten and decayed kink.
