Feature Name: The Grinch
Starring (Voices by): Benedict Cumberbatch, Rashida Jones, Kenan Thompson, Cameron Seely, Angela Lansbury
Directed by: Scott Mosier, Yarrow Cheney
The Grinch is set around Christmas but lacks the cheer (read goodness) associated with the festival.
Because of some past instances, The Grinch simply hates Christmas and everything around it. Aided mainly by his dog Max, The Grinch (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch) plans to take away all the Christmas gifts of Whosville’s residents. On the other hand, Cindy Lou Who (voiced by Cameron Seely) wants to meet Santa Claus as she wants to thank her widowed mother Donna Lou Who (voiced by Rashida Jones).
The Grinch has some funny moments and dialogues but the script is really weak. It is simply not engaging. The intentions are noble but the execution is weak. It does throw some important life lessons without really being preachy. The voice-overs are good.
The Grinch suffers from a weak script. We give it 2 stars with no kink.
