Mark Schwahn, the writer and producer behind One Tree Hill, has managed the impossible to creating a fake royal family that looks very convincing. The best about about this fictional series it that it’s non pretentious and fun.
The Royals Season One, is all about a royal family that’s on the verge go abolition, a power struggle between a queen and her son’s common girlfriend, and loads of sex.
The Royals is all about Queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley) and King Simon (Vincent Regan), who try to present an aura of class and grace to the public, but the truth of the family’s life is much different.
Their rebellious daughter, Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park), is always in the news, thanks to her life that’s full of sex and drugs.
On the other hand, her twin brother, Prince Liam (William Moseley), is a playboy who takes full advantage of being the most eligible bachelors.
All is well, up until Prince Liam elder brother and heir to the throne passes away. Now this leads to the power play, the danger of their personal lives being exposed and much more.
If one needs to compare The Royals to another show, then one is reminded of Dirty Sexy Money, the show that ran on ABC in the year 2007.
Of the cast, everyone is good, but one needs to watch out for Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena and Jake Maskall as Prince Cyrus, King Simon’s (Vincent Regan) brother.
The channel best known for Keeping Up With The Kardashians has made it’s first foray into scripted drama, and managed to find subject has hit the bulls eyes.
They have been true to the kind of genera that’s expected on their channel and are well aware of the audiene that tune in to their channel.
Way to go team The Royals.
