Star Wars: The Last Jedi has too much going on but most of it fails to leave an impact.
Resistance fighters are in trouble as they are up against The First Order. On the other hand, Rey (Daisy Ridey) meets Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) at a secluded island and is looking for a lot of answers. You also get to know why Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) changed his loyalties.
The film is full of action. While some of it is good, there’s nothing really that makes you go ‘wow’. The same goes for the film. There are too many sub plots and most of them aren’t engaging. It also drags in a lot of portions. However, the film impresses in the climax which has a neatly done twist. Even the scenes between Rey and Luke pack a punch and act as a saving grace.
Talking about the performances, Daisy Ridey and Mark Hamill are superlative. Adam Driver performs well as he a plays a character with many shades. All the other actors are good.
Keep your expectations in check and you might like it. We give Star Wars: The Last Jedi 2.5 stars with a small kink.
