According to reports, Sarah Goldberg died of natural causes, but an autopsy was not able to determine a specific cause of death. Her mother, Judy Goldberg, stated that a heart ailment may have been responsible.
“She went to sleep and didn’t wake up,” Judy Goldberg told the press.
Barry Watson, the actor who played Matt Camden (7th Heaven), said goodbye to Sarah Goldberg on Twitter and wrote, “RIP Sarah. I will miss you always. Love Ya!”
The news of Sarah Goldberg’s death comes as 7th Heaven fans grapple with the allegations that the show’s leading actor, Stephen Collins, who played pastor Eric Camden, admitted to molesting children.
Sarah Goldberg was a true small town girl who hit it big in Hollywood. She was born in Springfield, Illinois, then lived in Chicago, where she earned a Microbiology degree from Amherst College in 1996. After graduating from college, she moved to Hollywood.
Sarah was unexpectedly discovered as an actress while walking around the set of My Best Friend’s Wedding, which was filmed near her family’s home in Chicago. Sarah was an extra in the movie.
Sarah Goldberg’s first major role came in the 2001 action sequel Jurassic Park III. She also had a recurring role on the CBS Drama Judging Amy before landing a major role on 7th Heaven in 2002.
She also guest starred on a number of other dramas, including Without A Trace, CSI, In Plain Sight and House. She even did a six episode recurring role on the rebooted 90210.
Sarah is survived by her mom, Judy Goldberg, her dad Bill Goldberg, her brother Bradley, his wife Michelle, a niece and nephew and her two dogs, Daisy and Bucket.
