Pet Sematary: The End Makes This Decent Film Better

Pet Sematary

Feature Name: Pet Sematary

Director: Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer

Starring: Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, John Lithgow, Jeté Laurence

Pet Sematary might not be very scary but it manages to keep you interested nevertheless.

Rachel (Amy Seimetz) & her husband Louis Creed (Jason Clarke) relocate to rural Maine from Boston along with their two young children. They feel the new home will be much better but that’s certainly not the case as the place gives a very creepy vibe. And not very far from their home is a burial ground called ‘Pet Sematary’. Their pet cat dies and that’s when things begin to get worse.

The film’s horror portions somewhat disappoint. Some scenes will disturb you but that’s what the intention was. There’s enough in the story to keep you engrossed. It could’ve also been shorter and sharper. The film’s graph elevates to a great extent because of the climax. We won’t tell you anything about more about it though as it’ll be a big spoiler.

Jason Clarke & Rachel act well. Jeté Laurence, who plays Rachel & Louis’s daughter, Ellie, delivers a wonderful performance.

Pet Sematary is an engaging film which should be watched. We give it 3 stars with a kink.
