ABC began it’s build-up to February 22, 2105, the day of the Oscars 2015 show, with a promo from first time host Neil Patrick Harris this week.
Wearing a tuxedo with a fitting red scarf to represent the joyful holiday, Neil Patrick Harris shares an idea for a perfect Christmas gift.
Neil Patrick Harris, forty one, who is hosting the Oscars 2015, debuted his first Oscar promo which has a Christmas theme to it.
“Instead of traditional presents, give your family the gift of simply telling them to watch me host the Oscars,” Neil Patrick Harris tells viewers in the holiday themed clip.
The How I Met Your Mother star had previously stated that it was truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host the ceremony.
“I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show. To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true.” he has stated in his official statement in October 2014.
On October 16,2014 just a day after the news broke that he is going to host the Oscars 2015, Neil Patrick Harris stopped by the Entertainment Weekly Radio on Sirius XM and had opened up about what viewers can expect from him as the emcee of the upcoming 87th Academy Awards ceremony.
“I want to also just make sure that it’s a classy event. I’ve always loved the Oscars and have great respect for its history, and the gowns, and the classiness of it. And I loved Johnny Carson and Billy Crystal and honoring the gravity of it without getting heavy and boring. And I have no idea how to balance that, but that’s going to be the task ahead.” the Gone Girl star has told Entertainment Weekly Radio editor Matt Bean.
The actor has hosted the Tony Awards once and the Emmy Awards twice, and he has performed at the Oscars in the past.
