My Little Pony: The Movie shows the importance of friendship & teamwork but lacks magic.
All’s well in the land of Equestria until Storm King decided to take away all their happiness. The determined Mane 6, comprising Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends — Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Spike have to come together and fight for their kingdom.
The film is a bit too fast and might be too much to grasp for kids (presumably its target audience). Some good dialogues and the musical treatment keep you entertained. But even though it is all of 99 minutes, it feels long and doesn’t offer much that’ll stay with you. Sure, the lessons are fine but the treatment lacks finesse.
Voices by Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Tara Strong & Zoe Saldana add value. Emily and Tara are particularly good.
My Little Pony: The Movie is above average at best. We give it 2.5 with no kink.
