Starting on May 06, 2015 she is launching a residency at Las Vegas Caesars Palace. The show, titled Mariah Carey #1’s is said to focus on her eighteen number one singles, which span from 1990’s Vision Of Love to 2008’s Touch My Body.
“I have so many ideas for the show that I’m currently working on and am excited to perform all of my number one singles together for the first time and others that are very close to my heart. My songs are the soundtrack of my life and I can’t wait to share them with my fans on stage!” stated a super excited Mariah Carey.
Although the show will centre around Mariah Carey’s unprecedented eighteen Billboard Hot 100 number ones, the most for any solo artist in history, the Caesars Palace website says she will also perform fan-favorite album cuts, never before performed selections and many more musical surprises.
Mariah Carey also added, “Revisiting these songs for the show, working on the updated compilation and creating new music has really let me reconnect with my songs and I hope my fans will enjoy the experience.”
Although it hasn’t been disclosed what kind of payday Mariah Carey will be earning, it’s thought to be considerably more than the reported $30 million Britney Spears got for her two year residency show at Planet Hollywood Resort And Casino.
The announcement of her residency follows reports that Celine Dion would not be returning Caesars Palace this March so that she could continue to take care of her ill husband, Rene Angelil.
Tickets to Mariah Carey’s first performances are available now at thecolosseum.com or axs.com, with prices ranging from $55 to $250.
Guess it’s going to an opportunity of a life time for all her fans!!
