Yes, Late Night With David Letterman that broadcast one thousand eight hundred and ten episodes and ran for five hundred and ninety five weeks on CBS Network is set to go off air.

Bill Murray was the first guest on the premiere broadcast of the show (February 01, 1982) and shall also be a part of the finale. With this, he would have appeared on the show forty four times.

Till date, this talk show has received sixteen Emmy Awards and a hundred and twelve Emmy Award nominations.

Over the years, two of David Letterman’s signature segments have been Stupid Pet Tricks and Stupid Human Tricks.david letterman-03The very first Stupid Pet Tricks segment made its debut on his morning show, The David Letterman Show, on June 26, 1980, and the first Stupid Human Tricks segment premiered on Late Night With David Letterman on October 03, 1983.

His thirty three year old stint has been marred with the 2009 sex scandal that nearly ruined his career. The secret affair came out only six months after David Letterman married his long term girlfriend, Regina Lasko.

He recalled the excruciating experience of telling his wife about the affair, when he opened up in a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple remain married today and have a twelve year old son.

As of his final night on May 20, 2015 David Letterman would have presided over six thousand and twenty eight broadcasts in latenight, counting his 1982-93 run at NBC in addition to his CBS tenure.
