Forbes came out with their list of the World’s Highest Paid Celebrities of 2015, and behind boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao; who made a whopping $300 million and $160 million each, Katy Perry took the the number three spot, earning more than any other musician this year pulling in a impressive $135 million. Wow!!
“I am an entrepreneur. I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually wanted to kind of grab it by its balls.” stated the Roar singer.
Her earnings are all thanks to her Prismatic World Tour, which consisted of a hundred and twenty four shows, seventy five of them taking place abroad.
Her 2012 documentary Part Of Me grossed $33 million which was made on a $06 million budget. She is the face of brands such as CoverGirl, Popchips and Adidas.
“One thing I’ve been able to do is know the power of having equity deals. I don’t ever like to do things unless I’m really a part of them.” the thirty year old singer told Forbes.
Katy Perry also grossed more than boy band One Direction, who took the forth position with $130 million, while Garth Brooks landed at number six , pulling in $90 million.
Her contemporary, Taylor Swift, landed at number eight on the list with her total earnings adding up to an estimated $80 million.
There were two celebrities we were surprising not seen on Forbes Top 10 list were Beyonce and Kim Kardashian.
While Beyonce and Kim Kardashian landed at number twenty nine, with her estimated earnings adding up to $54. 5 million, Kim Kardashian came in just behind, grossing $52.5 million.
Even though Katy Perry may have beat Taylor Swift as the highest paid musician, Taylor Swift and her beau Calvin Harris were deemed the highest paid celebrity couple by Forbes. The two brought in an estimated combined income of $146 million.
