This review is kind of pointless because you’ll watch the film, no matter what we say. But anyway, here we go.
Justice League has just about the right ingredients to make it a worthy watch.
Superman is dead. And the entry of the evil Sttepenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) spells doom. Now Bruce Wayne / Batman (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince / Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) manage to form a team consisting of Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller), Jason Momoa (Arthur Curry / Aquaman) and Victor Stone / Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to take on menacing Sttepenwolf.
The thing about superhero movies is that, no matter how hard things get, you know it’s going to be okay in the end. What matters is how you execute it. Justice League has enough to keep you interested. The story is just about okay but the twist in the middle adds tremendous value and gives the film the much-needed boost. The banter between the superheroes is far less and so is the humour. That being said, the overall tempo of the film is engaging and so you don’t mind its shortcomings.
All the actors get almost equal scope. Henry Cavill is impressive as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman. Ciarán Hinds is fine but we wish there was more of him. Gal Gadot is good. Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher are decent. Ezra Miller is fine.
Don’t have a lot of expectations from Justice League and you’ll be fine. We give it 3 stars with a kink.
