“There’s never been a closet that I’ve been in. So that’s why I choose not to talk about my personal life, but there is without a doubt, no closet that I’ve ever been in, and I just wanted to make that clear, but it was most important for me to make that clear to you on your show at this time in the world and that’s where I’m at.” stated the actor.
In the interview, that was filed back stage, the thirty one year old actor stated that his mother knows about him being gay and she loves him a lot. Yes he takes her to the Sound Of Music sing along every, single year and now he need not answer any more questions as the truth is out in the open.

Until his conversation with Ellen DeGeneres, Jussie Smollett consistently refused to discuss his sexuality in interviews and even went on record to state that his fans shouldn’t assume that he’s gay.
