Johnny Depp, recently told a leading publication that he is no longer worried about the perception of what makes a movie a hit. He opened up about recent films that have done less than what he expected them to do.
Johnny Depp has revealed in an interview that when it comes to the critics, he doesn’t have a care in the world.
“As Marlon Brando once so beautifully told me; Life is a birdsong. Now that’s stuck with me. For everybody, the clock’s ticking. The main thing is whether you sit there and stare at the clock in fear of your ultimate demise, which is pointless or you just live.” stated the Oscar nominated actor and icon.
Johnny Depp’s attitude adjustment comes after having to deal with recent box office flops like Transcendence and The Lone Ranger.
“What is really satisfying is the fact that I have stopped carrying. There was a time when I cared so much and was so diligent in terms of approaching the work. Then you get to where you care so much that it gets goddamn beleaguering. But then a great thing happens. Suddenly you care enough to not give a damn, because that’s the total liberation. Being game to try anything.” stated a very calm and composted Johnny Depp.
The actor, who just wrapped sequel Alice In Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, admitted that his schedules has been insane but he has made a career out of being a creative chameleon, with results often coming in the form of both critical and Box Office success.
With three films already in the pipeline for next year, Johnny Depp swaps multiple bizarre hairstyles and dramatic outfits to portray the Big Bad Wolf in Into The Woods, a famed art dealer in Mortdecai and criminal mastermind Whitey Bulgar In Black Mass.
Here’s wishing this talented actor all the very best and we go hope that his next releases turn out to be blockbusters.
