Hotel Artemis Movie Review: This Hotel Isn’t Worth Visiting

Hotel Artemis

Director: Drew Pearce
Starring: Jodie Foster, Sterling K Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Brain Tyree Henry, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto

Hotel Artemis is a film with a good premise but is unable to do justice to it.

The year is 2028 & the place is Los Angeles. A riot has broken out because of water not being easily available to the common junta. There’s a unique 13-story hospital named Hotel Artemis. What’s unique, you ask? Well, the hospital is only for criminals & is run by a no-nonsense woman named Jean Thomas aka The Nurse (Jodie Foster). How things unfold on one night at this hospital is what the film is about.

Hotel Artemis has an interesting plot but the makers don’t know what to do with it. Even the emotional bits are not emotional enough and fail to leave a mark. The multiple characters & their respective stories don’t add much value. Amongst the actors, Jodie Foster stands out with a remarkable performance.

Hotel Artemis is an average film at best. We give it 2 stars with no kink.
