Robin Williams daughter Zelda Williams, who briefly quit Twitter after receiving abusive messages following her father’s suicide last month, has been touched to receive letters and stories from people who have experienced similar tragedies and finds it inspiring to hear how they have been able to move on from their losses.
Zelda Williams returned to social media at the beginning of September after a three week break. She had announced that she was quitting Twitter on August 13, 2014, after two users sent her photoshopped pictures of her father, just days after he hung himself at his home.
“I will be leaving this account for a bit, while I heal and decide if I’ll be deleting it or not. In this difficult time, please try to be respectful of the accounts of myself, my family and my friends.” she has written on twitter before she had quit.
Zelda Williams thanked all her fans and well wishers for their messages of support to help her overcome the death of her father.
“I just want to say thank you for all the stories and letters I’ve been receiving, especially from those who’ve also lost loved ones,” she posted on twitter.
“I don’t come online often, but reading of others who have dealt with this loss and gone on to live happy, full lives is helpful.” she added in another tweet.
Zelda Williams, twenty five then retweeted a picture of her father singing alongside Sesame Street’s two-headed monster. “Bearded sing off,” she wrote alongside a smiley face.
Zelda Williams father, Robin Williams was pronounced dead at his home in California, on August 11, 2014. He had been battling severe depression recently.
Robin Williams was a riot in drag as a housekeeper in Mrs. Doubtfire, and was a run away hit in Aladdin. He won his Academy Award in a rare, but equally intense dramatic role, as a teacher in Good Will Hunting.
