The photos of the Real Madrid football star Cristiano Ronaldo created quite a stir as they were splashed all across for the new campaign from his popular CR7 By Cristiano Ronaldo Underwear Collection.
Photographs of the sports star showing off his six-pack in a pair of his briefs have been projected on to the Praca Do Comercio in Lisbon, the Bowery in New York, a building near Waterloo in London, Berlin, Milan, Paris and Madrid. The collection is designed in collaboration with New York based designer Richard Chai.
The campaign is officially named Rankin x Ronaldo For CR7 Underwear, after the world famous photographer Rankin who shot the images.
“I am really proud of my second CR7 Underwear collection and wanted to launch it in a way that was personal to me, and to have some fun with it. The number seven has always been close to my heart, so I was honoured to unveil my new collection in seven cities around the globe. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Rankin and incredible to see the images released in this unique way.” Cristiano Ronaldo commented on the launch.
Cristiano Ronaldo also shared pictures from the campaign, which also aim to capture his trademark football moves, on his Facebook page today, along with the caption: “I am very proud to finally launch my new Rankin X Ronaldo For CR7 Underwear Campaign! The second collection launches today – hope you love it as much as I do!”
Cristiano launched CR7 in the year 2006 and expanded his business in 2008. Working with designer Richard Chai he has been able to move his brand forward and achieve his goals in the world of fashion.
“Since having the opportunity to work on my own brand, fashion and design have become a passion of mine and I’ve really enjoyed working on the second collection. We used our experiences with the first collection to build on the range and I am really pleased with the new styles.” he added.
The collection is available from today (August 04, 2014).
