Yuvan Shankar Raja, is not just the legend Ilaiyaraaja’s younger son, but is also India’s youngest composer, who did his first Tamil film music at the age of sixteen and now is all set for his Bollywood debut with Raja Natwarlal.
After giving music in about hundred Tamil films, Yuvan Shankar Raja makes his Bollywood debut with Raja Natwarlal.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is Ilaiyaraaja’s son and music runs in his blood. He grew up in a musical environment, but always wanted to become a pilot. At the age of thirteen, his mom sent him to learn piano from Jacob John an as they say the rest is history.
Raja Natwarlal came to Yuvan via Pritam who not only suggested his name to Kunal Deshmukh, but saw to it that Yuvan was signed on for the project.
Yuvan Shankar Raja does about ten films every year and is known to do films for free as he loves to help people. His father, Ilaiyaraaja, too has helped a lot of people in his life and is not commercial minded.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is all set to compose for more Bollywood films. “Being the son of a legendary composer is not an easy job. Bollywood is a bigger platform and I am very content with the music of Raja Natwarlal.” says an upbeat Yuvan Shankar Raja.
On the personal front, things are a bit shaky for Yuvan Shankar Raja. He got married at the age of twenty five, but his marriage lasted for three months. He again married when when he was thirty, but is now separated and on the way to getting a divorce.
We just weeks left for the film to hit the silver screens, we do hope that Yuvan Shankar Raja has a dream run in Bollywood do and we do get to hear some great compositios from him.
