Kajal Aggarwal, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgn in director Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham, has always been playing a game of hide-and-seek with Bolywood. The actress actually made her debut seven years before Singham in the film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, as Aishwarya’s sister Ria, which obviously went unnoticed. We also saw the actress in the robbery thriller, Special 26, opposite Akshay Kumar, and then she vanished for another 2 years. Now, she will next be seen in Deepak Tijori’s intense love story Do Lafzon Ki Kahani with Randeep Hooda.
In a recent interview, when she was asked why she is playing hide-and-seek with Bollywood, she said, “In this industry it’s easy to get typecast and I’ve been careful even with my Tamil and Telugu films. Special 26 was not a substantial role in terms of screen time but I fell in love with the script immediately.”
Talking about her upcoming film, she mentioned, “I play a blind girl or rather because of a disorder, she suffers from poor sight. So while Randeep (Hooda) trained in martial arts, I went to a Blind School and studied Braille.”
When asked if she would continue disappearing from Bollywood, the chirpy actress said, “I’d like to strike a balance between Bollywood and the South. After all, Hindi is my language and I am a South Mumbai girl.”
