Trailer Review: Ungli – It’s Actually Different

ungli-01It’s fun, It’s hilarious and it’s actually different; well we are talking about Karan Johar’s Ungli that stars Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhoopalam, Angad Bedi and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles.

Ungli is all about five friends; Kamil (Angad Bedi), Goti (Neil Bhoopalam), Maya (Kangana Ranaut), Abhay (Randeep Hooda) and Nikhil (Emraan Hashmi) who decide to take matters into their own hands, to set the city right with the motto “It’s time to show them the middle finger”.

The trailer of Ungli starts off with a grave problem faced by people staying in Mumbai, that of auto rickshaws. Emraan locks up a rickshaw wala in a train and sends him away from the city and that is how the gang operates.

Another delight in the trailer is the presence of Sanjay Dutt who looks dashing in his salt and paper look. Sanjay Dutt is essaying the role of a Mumbai police cop, who strategises to trap the Ungli gang. The film also stars Neha Dhupia and Arunoday Singh in pivotal roles.

“Ungli is new territory for us. It has a very different plot from the kind of subjects we have explored in the past. Rensil D’Silva has put his heart and soul into this one.” states producer Karan Johar.

Ungli, which initially was slated for an early 2014 release, got postponed. Rumors say that Karan Johar took this decision in order to make way for Sajid Nadiadwala’s film Heropanti which was also the launching vehicle of Tiger Shroff.

From the first look of it, Ungli promises to be a light hearted entertainer with a social message. Now will Ungli drive us crazy or not, we’ll come to know when it finally releases but going by the tailer one is surely intrigued.

Directed by Rensil D’Silva and produced by Karan Johar, Ungli is scheduled to release on November 28, 2014.
