A trailer starts with an interesting quote, preparing you for the things that are about to follow.
Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho is about a man (Rahul Bagga) who is falsely accused of raping a beauty pageant winning buffalo by a local politician (Annu Kapoor), and how he gets dragged into a court cases and panchayat sessions, which in turn orders him to marry the buffalo.
Based on true events, the film underlines the ridiculous cases that are still stuck in our judicial system.
Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho is a political satire running along a perilous love story based in Tanakpur, a village in Haryana.
The Pradhan of Tanakpur, Sualal Gandas (Annu Kapoor) rules the village with extensive powers, vested upon him by a Khap.
Incidentally, the cruel Sualal Gandas has a gentle, dreamy and much younger wife Maya (Hrishita Bhatt) and as luck would have it, she falls in love with Arjun (Rahul Bagga), a man closer to her age and heart.
The satire becomes poignant when Sualal and his friends humiliate Arjun publicly by accusing him of raping Miss Tanakpur.
People might be raving and ranting about this trailer, but the feeling that this one evokes is that of disgust as we are talking about a man having sex with an animal.
To me, this is disgusting and cheap and does not evoke any kind of humour. With due respects to people who have liked it, I would strongly condemn this one.
Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho stars Annu Kapoor, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Sanjay Mishra, Om Puri, Rahul Bagga and Ravi Kishan.
The film has been written and directed by Vinod Kapri and has been produced by Vinay Tiwari.
Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho is set for a June 26, 2015 release.
