Katti Batti is a love story that begins in college, it progresses to the couple starting to live in and finally the couple and the primary characters eventual mature so that they can take the important decisions of their life.
It is supposedly a contemporary love story between Imran Khan (Maddy Sharma) and Kangana Ranaut, who will be seen in a double role essaying the roles of Payal and Bijlee.
Sadly, there is nothing new about the film. We have seen Kangana do this far too often. Also Imran Khan looks totally miscast and the chemistry between the two just does not work.
Apparently Kangana Ranaut stepped on the other side of the camera and directed the first seven minutes of the film.
According to the production team, this seven minute sequence was shot in one take.
“It’s a seven-minute uncut sequence. I had to shoot it by holding the camera in my hands, which was the demand of the script. It was nerve-racking, but actors can do anything for a director who shows trust and faith in his actor’s abilities. Nikhil is one such director.” stated Kangana in a statement.
Coming to her co-star Imran Khan, this film is very crucial for his as he was last seen in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein opposite Kareena Kapoor, a Box Office disaster.
Also for the director Nikhil Advani, this film is very important because his last D-Day (2013) was a wash out.
Looks like the makers are desperately trying to cash in Kangana’s magic with Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
Just a piece of advice; Revolver Rani too did a similar jig by trying to encash it on Queen and we all know what happened.
Over all, this trailer is a huge disappointment and does not work for me at all.
Backed by UTV Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment, Katti Batti is slated to be released on September 18, 2015.
